Default I'm considering a used 1st/2nd Gen Highlander Hybrid w/ 100k+ miles

I'm considering buying a used 1st or 2nd generation Highlander Hybrid w/ 100k+ miles.

Besides having any used vehicle inspected by a mechanic before purchase - and that extended warranties aren't worth the paper they're written on (Clark Howard), what else should I know about purchasing a 1st/2nd generation Highland Hybrid w/ 100k+ miles?

Potential / common problems and their accompanying expenses and solutions?

Pros and cons of this 1st or 2nd generation Highlander Hybrid w/ 100k+ miles?

What else don’t I even know to ask?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

I have been asked "Should I buy X used hybrid" over 100 times.

My response is always along these lines:

Are you prepared to spend an additional $3000-5000 on the vehicle within the first 90 days of ownership?

If the answer is "yes," go for it.

If the answer is "no," it's not the vehicle for you.

The hybrid battery replacement is costly. About 6k plus. The batteries are rated fir 100k miles but there are exceptions. I have a 2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid original battery with 207k miles but I live in. feat of the battery dying.

Try GREEN BEAN Battery They come to you. Prices are pretty fair, and they might give you a discount depending on how many old cells they can recycle for the next customer.
