New Prius with Hybrid Synergy Drive?
Anybody know anything about this prototype displayed at the Denver Auto Show? There are several photos here:

And it looks like there is a new Lexus 250h Hybrid?
And why so few (1?!) posts on the LS 600H L forum? Does it not get good enough gas mileage to qualify?

Re: New Prius with Hybrid Synergy Drive?
Lexus is just upscale enough that buyers are more aware of the HAZARDS of FWD along with the more benign driving dynamics of RWD or R/awd so the 250h is highly likely to become simply a lost leader. The LS series has grown quite expensive enough without the "added" value of HSD.
My '92 LS has "only" 248HP which IMMHO is more than enough.
What Lexus now needs is a HSD version of the Venza using an Atkinsonized DFI version of the new I4 (e/CVT is a "given") using the new F/awd system.

That photo is the 2010 Prius (with HSD). It's available starting next month.
The Lexus 250h is basically a very luxurious Prius. Available this fall. It will appeal to those who want a smaller car but want to stick with Lexus luxury.
The LS600H is rare because not many of us can justify or afford a car that costs upwards of $100,000! Look at one in a Lexus showroom. It has very small cargo capacity (presumably if you can afford it you can afford to have your cargo delivered). It only seats 4 yet is massive.
