Re: What is the dumbest part of the TCH?
From Smilin' Jack's list of the 25 dumbest things about the TCH:
Number 18: No dual exhaust offered.
Dual exhausts, properly set up, can give more torque, more power, higher max efficiency and higher mpg. Some speed/power hot rod mods can hurt mileage, but some actually improve mileage because the extra power is obtained by way of higher efficiency. The latter is usually the case with dual exhausts. The lower exhaust back pressure simply lets the engine operate at higher efficiency.
Many participants in this forum add rear body treatments with simulated dual exhausts for appearance only. Some of those have speculated that they would add functional dual exhausts if they could get the parts.
And if you are skeptical about the possible benefit of duals on an in-line 4 cylinder, please consider:
1. There are aftermarket manufacturers offering "cat-back" dual conversions (dual exhaust parts only from the catalytic converter back to the tailpipes) for 4 cylinder cars. One claims a 15% increase in power for an Audi 4 cylinder.
2. Toyota is soon to offer a dual exhaust setup on the 4 cylinder Hylander. AND the reason given is to improve low end torque for better efficiency.
Now it does not happen too frequently that we get the opportunity to save the planet and look cool at the same time. How could they pass that up ?

I flipped a coin, too. Hmmmm, fuel door won for me, too!

Re: What is the dumbest part of the TCH?
But.....did you actually TEST it on YOUR car to see if it opens while driving? Not all do.

One and all ...
How can you so easily overlook ...
That most, most useful feature that I am sure most of you live by and swear by ...
No, No - NOT the ECO switch
Nor - the fuel door
And No - not even the controls for lights or climate!
Surely you are in daily disarray without the guidance of the BLUE RINGS OF ECONOMY encircling the speedometer!
I know they are there ... I just never notice them until I stop and shut down.
How about the rest of you?
