Toyota of Greenfield, MA is where I got mine a few years ago. Troy Dietrich was the person I dealt with. Had one of the best prices for the Platinum warranty.

Get a price from somone like Toyota of Greenfield Mass. and give your local dealer a chance to meet it. I did, and they met the price and everyone is happy. Be sure to get official Toyota coverage....good luck.

 

If you have the extended warranty, have you had to use it a lot?

 

I bought mine ( warranty) 3 years ago. TCH 2007, purchased 5/26/06. As of today have 35K miles. Used to drive a fair amount but not in past 18 months. Have not used the warranty! Have about 2 yrs and 35k miles to go before expiration. May not have been a good purchase, but time will tell. I am happy that I bought it when I did, in part a piece of mind issue. Think I paid about 990.00.

Most, over time, will lose money on extended warranties (that's why they sell them). It buys you peace of mind and an element of financial security against a major repair, but in all likelihood, the cost of self insurance (pay repairs out of pocket) will be less than the cost of the warranty. Camry's are exceptionally well made and reliable.

 

This being my first Hybrid I opted for the 8 year 100k mile platinum warranty for peace of mind while I pay on the note. The car has been awesome so far and I look forward to many years and miles of usage.

 

I got 100k extended warranty for mine back when I bought it in '06 for $900. I have 101k on my car now and so far "knock on the wood" no problems whatsoever. I also had to take my car for full checkup to stealership right before warranty expired to make sure there is nothing wrong and that cost me another $288, so in hindsight it was total waste of money for me. Not only that, since I do all maintenance myself I specifically told them not to change anything, especially engine oil which was good for another 3k. But when I checked oil recently, it looks very fresh and it's full, so it's a possibility they did change oil regardless and they used their bulk 10w30 normal oil (as listed on the invoice) instead of 5w20 Mobil1 I always use and on top of that, since part of the whole service was changing all the filters I asked them to just give me the filters, for me to install later and of course gave me wrong air filter, so I had to drive back second time and replace it with right one.
