Electric Drag Racing
Some interesting facts shown here about a electric powered vehicle. 300 hp with nimh then 400 hp using lithium. Not only that but when he switches to lithium's the car was much lighter.
I started the video, then paused it for a few minutes. Then it ran all the way though without stopping.

Re: Electric Drag Racing
I thought it was interesting about the battery change and improvements it made. Especially the part about a motors high torque at the low rpm. Who would believe a electric car would be that quick.

Re: Electric Drag Racing
I saw a blurb on electric drag racers a few years ago and the guy there said that the power wasn't the problem. The problem was having strong enough driveshafts. They were snapping them because of the 100% torque the engine has starting right from the get go. I believe that was a Celica then.

Re: Electric Drag Racing
Story goes (read it at a news site...) A Tesla salesman asks a prospective customers to check out the radio, as they reach forward to turn the ***, the salesman guns it and the guy is thrown back in his seat unable to reach the dash. Yes, electrics can be quite quick.
