New Toyota Coming in 2008, Hybrid Too
Word is, Toyota’s working on a mid-engine sports car to replace the Celica (and MR2) inspired by the company’s CS&S concept of 2003. According to the UK’s Autocar the new model won’t appear before 2008, but will be a mid-engined, all-wheel-drive sportster that seats four — to be offered with Toyota’s next-generation hybrid powerplant.

I am sure this excites many, but as a family man, I was hoping it was going to say someone was finally going to produce a Hybrid Minivan!
I swear, by the time the Hybrid minivan comes out, I won't have any kids left at home to cart around

I hope it will be a higher MPG as opposed to lower MPG with better performance. Looks pretty lightweight - in the Miata ballpark likely.
Toyota has been selling hybrid minivans in Japan for a while now; I've been hoping they bring it here as well. I've seen a blurb or two that says they will next year; with they new Camry Hybrid out soon, it can't be far?!

I predict for the new prius:
- more sporty AND fuel miser
- more stable at higher highway speeds
- 4WD standard (operates at 2WD if efficency is desired)
- looks sexy
- introduction of several trim lines (appeal to more buyers)
- 1 second or more time shaven off for 0 to 60 time
that would be dope.

I've gone in to the dealers several times asking for a hybrid truck, they just look at me Toyota, if you're listening - I'd buy a Tacoma or Tundra tonight if there was a "greener" option - why by a Tacoma when you can get a great big lumbering diesel that gets similar mileage
