Honda Unveils New Hybrid Civic
Honda Motor Co. on Thursday unveiled a new hybrid Civic, powered by a gasoline-electric engine, that it hopes will get attention from drivers fed up with surging gasoline prices. The new hybrid model is about 280,000 yen ($2,500) more expensive than a revamped gasoline-powered model that Honda also rolled out Thursday which runs about 2.1 million yen ($18,900).

Re: Honda Unveils New Hybrid Civic
I'm happy that Honda stuck with the "maxed-out mild-hybrid" model. It still gets really good gas mileage, but has the distinct advantage that it is still functional with a depleted battery.
I've left the lights on before and depleted the battery, but my HCH'03 always ran just fine after a jump-start, and usually had the IMA battery replenished after 30 minutes of normal driving.
Designing a mild-hybrid with a limited EV mode (for the 2006 HCH)was a pretty good decision in my humble opinion.
