The hybrid trucks run off both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, increasing fuel economy.

4 years later its good to know that hybrid is a house hold word (not many people have them but everyone knows what they are and that they exist...)
I am want to get a hybrid, though I am not sure which and was wondering (besides them being green - which is wonderful and reason enough) how it affects ones pocket as apposed to a no hybrid car?

Mostly it means I spend per month, $40, in gas what others are spending per week. This means I don't have to make hard decisions about travel versus being able to do anything once we are there.

Wow! that's a huge difference! and what about maintenance - the more complex the engine the more expensive and difficult the maintenance is.... or do you have some great news for me on that as well?

I would recommend checking out the "Consumer Reports" on Prius reliability. I do my own maintenance so I'm not a good 'tell' but compared to other cars we've owned, I find the Prius systems to be an engineering marvel.

GOOD LUCK!
