Most of these are GM Company cars and many have never even been titled. I suggest searching Ebay and Autotrader.com. You can easily save yourself an extra $10K below the discounted new price. I paid $32,500 for mine (4X4 with Sunroof and RSE) in December and it had about 17,000 miles on it. Values have dropped even more since then, especially on the Hybrids.
and look at the negative side of things ...which is one of the reasons our country is in such dire straights right now. yep my brand new 2500 mile yukon hybrid isnt worth ten cents...there do you feel better now!

Not quite sure what is implied by the last post??

I try to think of myself as a "Glass half full" kind of guy, but a realistic one who explores all his options and likes to share my experiences in a positive way with others who may want to hear them and may or may not benefit from them.

On the bright (Positive) side of things, those who paid in the low $40K range for their new trucks really did get a good deal on a NEW car. In fact, based on current USED values the initial "First Year" depreciation using those sale numbers vs. current market value is better than industry average for as long as I can remember. Whenever you buy a NEW car you have traditionally always expected an immediate minimum 20%-25% depreciation right off the bat. Based on those numbers it sounds like most of the members of this forum that bought "New" are doing pretty well.

This forum is a great place for all of us to openly share our experiences in the hope that it can provide some potentially valuable information to someone reading. It may not always be valuable to everyone, but lets try to keep a friendly and non-hostile forum here. I love this forum and have been able to learn and share without fear of being ridiculed or accused of being negative. I would hope most people agree. Thanks to all of you for the great information and keep on posting

Thanks for all of the responses, but only one person has actually told me how much. 44-45? Is that what I should shoot for? My dealer only wants to go down to 50K, and I told her to take a leap.

I think around $42-$44k would be a good deal for sure for a 4x4 2009 Hybrid. You should be able to find a dealer that will take it. $45k for sure...that would be around $11k off.

$50k, no way.

I got my 2008 Hybrid for employee pricing plus $5,000 cash on top of that, for a total of about $11k off of sticker plus they took another $500 off of that. So, from what I recall, it was close to the $44k price. Factor in the $2200 I will get back from Uncle Sam if/when 2008 Form 8910 finally gets released and it's not a bad deal!

Well I paid $44k for my 2008.

I am thinking now you should be able to get a 2009 for about the same or less.

Default here is one for you...

I looked at both the Chevy and the GMC and personally I liked the yukon for a lot of subtle interior reasons.

new never titled so it gets the 2200 tax rebate + the fed deduction for state sales tax. and its a 4X4 like mine...if you like white of course.

FYI,

I paid $39.5k before the rebate for my 2008 4x2 Hybrid with sun and DVD.

New, 100 miles on it.

I don't think you could get a 2009 that cheap yet...maybe later this year.

That said, if you can find a new 2008, you can probably get it even cheaper, as they are really trying to get rid of all 2008s.

Good luck....great deals out there now.

If you are looking to buy one right now you will probably not be able to get the same deals that most people that have posted here got on New ones. Right now the incentives are low ($3000 cash back) and there is less than a $4000 difference between dealer cost and MSRP. If you got the truck for $7000 off MSRP right now it would be becasue the dealer is selling it to you at invoice plus current rebates. During the employee pricing and Red Tag event the incentives were much more aggressive. If you can wait for a while and monitor rebates or consider going with a slightly used one then you should be able to get into the low to mid $40K range. Otherwise it sounds like the offer for $50K is probably the best the dealer can do RIGHT NOW without literally loosing money. I tend to think with all this government money for GM that they are going to go back to focussing on low APR incentives or a combination of APR and Cash Back vs. the huge cashback ones we saw at the end of last year, IMO.

I'm shopping for a Tahoe Hybrid now and have an 08 4x4 down to about 46.9k as an out the door price. This one has the sunroof and rear entertainment as well. I'm waiting a little longer to see if the dealer drops some more before I make the purchase. As many have said on this thread they are dealing much less on the 09s.
