Sadly I’m about to junk it I guess there’s a big issue with the motor. Not about to drop 5k into it for a new motor

why it's burning coolant?

you can always try the sodium silicate fix as long as it's not getting coolant into the oil it will "work"

it worked on a old car but i forgot to clean it out before it sealed up the themastat i had to flush it and replace two items after to get 100%

you will have to hook up the inverter cooling loop to another junk radiator first temporally so none of that garbage gets into the interver loop

also another one to bypass your main radiator

so you will need two junk radiators

or just one junk radaitor and the inverter on a closed loop with the heater core (it has it's own AUX pump) you will need to run the front heater on full blast with the windows open

According to their diagnosis the tahoe has perfect level of coolant, no leaks or breaks what so ever. Fast forward to present situation. I replaced the hybrid battery now the car drives but its giving codes saying low idle. The idle is really ruff at times never really done that before. Maybe it needs to be reprogramed or bad connection somewhere? Heard it can be a dirty throttle body, 12v battery cables need to be replaced or a bad wiring harness......

It can definitely be a dirty throttle body. Worth looking.

if you dont want it i'll give you 1k for it that is more then a junk yard

how old is the 12v battery?

or if the cables are loose it can cause a lot of issues...

I need some advice. I’m having the same issue, my vehicle code is reading p0306. I took it to get diagnosed by a Chevrolet dealership. They are trying to charge me $1,140 just to see if I have a collapsed lifter but not technically sure if it is. My question is can you see before hand if I have a bad lifter before they actually break down my engine ??

you can, but you gotta at least remove a valve cover to inspect it.

there's a good youtube video on it if I can find it. if you can remove the cover. depends on how comfortable you are working on stuff. they also have a trick that may release the stuck lifter. if so then you tune out the afm stuff so it stops using it, so it doesn't get stuck again. it's 50/50 it works, but arguably better than pulling the heads and replacing them if it works

very common fail in all these afm v8's not just the hybrid ones. if you keeps driving it long enough it will tear up the cam lobe, fill the engine with metal and hurt the bottom end. at that point you'll need a motor. which is a bit hard to find for these hybrid trucks, since they are a little different than your standard truck.
