"Recall" on 2005 - 2007 FEH and 2006 - 2007 MMH
When I got home I had a letter waiting from Ford saying that there is a recall on my 2005 FEH. It seems that a resister can corrode in the battery pack causing the FEH to shut-down with the "Stop Safely Now" message. According to the letter you can take the vehicle in for service to have this problem corrected at no cost under program number 07B48. Repairs take about half a day and must be scheduled first.
Has anyone else seen this? If wanted I can post a scan of the letter (with personal info removed).
P.S. I goofed on the Thread heading it should be "Recall on 2005-2007 FEH and 2006 - 2007 MMH" but I can't seem to edit that.

Fixed.
Got it as well today in the mail. Hmm, probably go in on Monday then.

TeeStar,
Here is the link to the letter images I posted in the share section. I've removed the letter's header and my personal information. I called and got a service appointment for Friday morn. because I'm going on a trip this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.
Pravus Prime,
Thanks for fixing the heading.

If I am reading the recall letter correctly, they are not replacing or repairing the resistor, but just reprogramming the system to ignore any such error indications. This is because the resistor is inside the HV battery module, and dealers aren't allowed to open up the battery module.
I assume they put the resistor there in the first place for some meaningful purpose. I am kind-of concerned that are now just going to forget it was ever there.
Is that the way others are reading this?

I am also wondering if this "resistor" is the real culprit or just something to get you into the shop so they can fix something they'd rather not tell you about.
Mine was built 12/2004 and I did not get a letter today. Maybe tomorrow....
If I start asking around, and they tell me not to worry, it was just a weather balloon... I'm going to be even more suspicious!
Somebody watch when they do it if you can.
I doubt they will plug anything into "the battery".
Most likely they will connect to the OBD plug under the steering wheel... or perhaps... but less likely, under the hood.
