Default Android app to monitor SOC in GM hybrids ?

Hi all,

If this ends up being a duplicate post.....moderator please delete....I wrote a new thread and submitted it...then it went into thin air and did not post anywhere...so here it goes again.

New member of this great forum. Recently acquired 2010 Escalade Hybrid and would like to know if there are any developments in the Android App arena to allow Hybrid System monitoring from cell voltages, real time am,p draws, regeneration currents, temperatures, fan activity etc.
I have a Torque Pro app and used it to monitor other engine parameters but I don't see there any Hybrid System PIDs that can be enabled.

So...Anything out there do do what I am looking for ?

Second question......Since I have gotten once the P0BDD & P0AC4 codes, erased and so far they have not popped back up, I think I am due for a battery with 161k on the odo and 9 years in service.

1- What is the general consensus ( on lack thereof) about Green Bean reconditioned units with a Lifetime Warranty ?

2- I just learned about a seller on EBay from Ariziona that has NEW Gen2 and Gen3 NiMH modules and can put a package of 40 modules for $ 2900 plus shipping- offers a 3 years Warranty...that is it.

What route would you suggest ? New with 3 years or reconditioned with "Lifetime " ? Are they going to be around in 10 years ?

Searching the forum would have answered your questions.

Torque Pro.

GB has been in business less than 3 years. Dorman battery division almost went bankrupt offering 3 year warranties. They don't anymore.

I would regard the Arizona supplier to be highly suspect. NEW modules can't be purchased without purchasing entire packs.

Thank you Keith, appreciate the reply.
I did search the forum quite a bit.....I guess I was looking for an app besides Torque Pro that can have those PIDs enabled with the file downloiad...new developments that might have not heard about ..yet ?

As to the eBay seller, I have a call into them ( and my mistake it is Texas not AZ) and want to see about getting New Panasonic modules and do a swap in my battery at the right time.

are you sure P0BDD ?

P0BDD Drive motor Inverter Temperature Sensor E (means it's Shorted out or bad/poor connection or actually overheating)

P0AC4 Turn on Money Light Code..

Don't Change out the main battery unless you have an issue with that..

AutoStop Lag Replace or have the 12Volt battery checked out (Also check the ground cables as they are Chain Linked from the battery to the engine to the body pretty sloppy if you ask me)

or was it P0BBD?
Battery Module Voltage Deviation Is High.

and second codes?
such as
P0B3D P0B3E P0B3C P0B42 P0B43 P0B41 P0B47 P0B48
P0B46 P0B4C P0B4B P0B52 P0B50 P0B56 P0B57 P0B55 P0B5B P0B5C P0B5A P0B60 P0B61 P0B5F P0B65 P0B66
P0B64 P0B6A P0B6B P0B69 P0B6F P0B70 P0B6E P0B74 P0B75 P0B73 P0B79 P0B7A P0B78 P0B7E P0B7F P0B7D P0B83 P0B84 P0B82 P0B88 P0B89 P0B87 P0B8D P0B8E P0B8C P0B92 P0B93 P0B91 P0B97 P0B98 P0B96 P0B9C P0B9D P0B9B P0A1F

i would find out which module it was just replace it with a used one....

Or another option is to run it in M4 I know it's not optimal fuel but it would extend the life a bit... honestly if it lasted to 160k i would just buy a new pack rather then get someone else battery pack...

Just only use the low setting on the A/C... if needed to be used

you can just buy the battery modules it self
part#
84141586 should be about 3700 plus tax and install costs (Core charge if you DIY)

OP, please ignore this guy. His suggestion indicates that he has no idea what he's talking about and doesn't pay attention. There are multiple examples on this site of people testing packs only to find all 40 modules to be vastly deteriorated, and the level of testing to establish that is very time consuming. Multiple recordings of block voltage behavior during driving have been posted that demonstrate widespread damage to the battery.

it's not in everyones budget to buy a new pack even a Refurbished is just buying a "used one" that was repaired or had some modules replaced

Budgets are irrelevant. Your "advice" is garbage. When 38 of 40 modules have less than 20% of the rated capacity, the battery can't be made to work. There is no "just replace some modules" option. When these GM hybrid batteries fail, they are DESTROYED, and they MUST be replaced. Rather than replacing the battery, one can replace all 40 modules - which is effectively the same as replacing the whole pack. It's that simple. ALL evidence supports this conclusion.

There is NO evidence that supports your position or advice.

there is no new packs except for old stock 84141586...units or used ones from a wreaked Prius

does it make a sense to Spend $4,200(new pack) on a SUV worth only 7-8k at the most?
