Would Honda hybrid benefit from running at higher voltage?
 

Hello everyone,

This is Jack from Dr. Prius App, as you probably know we have been using LFP lithium pack on Prius at a higher voltage range to improve MPG.
We are wondering if the same SOC manipulation works on Honda hybrid? has anyone tried this before and is there any benefit?

How do your 5S LFP modules "manipulate" SoC?

All the hondas use 2x6S NiMH modules like the prius blocks, so your 5S LFP modules should perform about the same. There does seem to be a tendency for the Hondas to keep SoC closer to 70-75% rather than the ~57% of the Prius.

I guess I'm confused because you're not doing SoC manipulation on the Prius.

There are a handful of custom lithium retrofits that include SoC/tap voltage spoofing.
