Here in Spokane Wa. there was an ad in Sundays paper for a house that is fairly remote to the city, it is a big house on acerage, listed for just a tad under $500,000 (mean price here just over $200,000) as an incentive, it offered a new 2008 Prius....I am guessing to help counter the driving distance.

I had to laugh, not that long ago, I sold my house in the country (after being listed less than 12 hours), moved to town & bought a hybrid...people thought I was nuts...then gas hit $2.80 a gallon....apparently I am not so nuts anymore I went from driving 2 vehicles 15,000 miles a year each to 8,500 a year for both.
